CleanHaus FAQs
For Hosts and Owners
Can I use CleanHaus to manage communication with my cleaners?
- Absolutely! Both hosts and cleaners can now say goodbye to endless text threads. Now all communication happens in one place
How does CleanHaus use AI to streamline the management of my short-term rentals?
- AI is sprinkled through our entire platform, but the best part is having your very own AI agent, Claus. Both hosts and cleaners can text him any questions they have about schedules, tasks, or payments. Having Claus cuts down on communication by as much as 75%.
What is CleanHaus?
CleanHaus is an AI-powered scheduling and communication platform for short-term rental hosts. It automatically syncs your booking calendars, schedules cleanings, and keeps both you and your cleaners in sync through SMS and mobile-friendly web tools — no app download required.
How does scheduling work?
When you connect your booking calendars (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, Hipcamp, or any public iCal calendar), CleanHaus Lite automatically schedules cleanings between reservations and sends reminders directly to your cleaners via SMS.
Do I need an app?
No. CleanHaus Lite works through your mobile web browser and SMS — simple, fast, and familiar. You can bookmark your dashboard for quick access.
How many properties can I manage with Lite?
Lite supports up to 10 properties — perfect for small portfolios. Larger portfolios can upgrade to CleanHaus Base or Pro plans.
How do cleaners receive notifications?
Cleaners receive automated SMS alerts 72 hours before each cleaning and again on the day of the turnover.
What happens after a cleaning is completed?
You’ll receive a cleaner report with structured notes and photos so you always know your property is guest-ready.
How does payment work?
You set your payment preferences when adding a property. CleanHaus Lite processes payments automatically after each completed turnover (typically 4-5 days processing with a small processing fee). You can also log manual payments if needed.
Can I integrate cleaning schedules with calendars I already use?
Yes — CleanHaus Lite supports any booking calendar with a public iCal URL. Just paste the link in your property settings.
Is CleanHaus Lite only for Airbnb?
No. It integrates with Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, Hipcamp, and any calendar that supports public .ics links.
Can I upgrade beyond 10 properties?
Yes. CleanHaus offers other plans (Base & Pro) with advanced features and support for larger portfolios.

Find and suggest cleaners and other service providers (landscapers, exterminators, handymen, etc.).
Explain what bookings and cleanings are coming up for a property.
Check whether a cleaning is assigned to a booking.
Help reason through issues (missed cleans, tight turnarounds, overlap problems).
Surface property instructions/FAQs if they’re stored (Wi‑Fi, access, trash, etc.).
What can’t Claus do?
Directly call, text, or email cleaners or guests.
Delete bookings, jobs, or records in your system.

Claus can:
Identify the job, property, scheduled time, and assigned cleaner.

You still handle the actual communication and final decisions.

Claus will list nearby, well‑rated options with addresses and phone numbers when available.

“What’s the Wi‑Fi info at [property]?”
“What’s the gate/door code at [property]?”
“What are the trash and parking instructions at [property]?”
You still decide how to pass this on to guests.
What are the best practices for hosts and owners using Claus?

“Next booking at X?”, “Who’s cleaning tomorrow at Y?”, “Any cleaning assigned for Z?”Standardize prompts for your team:
“Next booking at [property]”
“Next three cleanings at [property]”
“Find [service type] near [property]”
Centralize key knowledge:
Store Wi‑Fi, access, trash, parking, and special equipment notes in your system so Claus can pull them up.Use Claus as a problem‑solving coach:
Ask for guidance:“Guest arrives in 3 hours and the cleaner missed the job, what should I do?”
“How should I document damage for Airbnb AirCover?”
“How do I handle back‑to‑back bookings at this property?”

1What can Claus do for cleaners?
Through the owner/manager, Claus can:
Tell you what cleanings are coming up at a property.
Clarify current job status (as seen in the system).
Surface notes or instructions already attached to a job or property.
Help your manager find backup cleaners if you’re unavailable.
Surface access and property information (codes, where supplies are kept, trash rules) if documented.
Can I update my job status by talking to Claus?
No. Status changes (start, in progress, completed) still need to be updated directly in the app you use. Claus can, however, tell the owner/manager what the current status is and what to check next.
How can cleaners “use” Claus in practice?
Usually via a manager or coordinator. Examples they can ask:
“What time is Irma’s cleaning at Parker Condo tomorrow?”
“Are there any special instructions for tomorrow’s cleaning at Parker River house?”
“Show upcoming cleanings at Parker Beach Cottage this week.”
“Find a backup cleaner near [property] for this afternoon.”
This helps you get clear scheduling and instructions without digging through multiple screens.
Can Claus add or change cleaning notes for me?
Generally, job notes still need to be entered by a person in the app.
Claus can:
Read out or summarize existing notes.
Suggest wording for notes (e.g., “add note: wash all windows and clean inside fridge”).
Remind the owner/manager to add or update particular instructions.
How does Claus help with property access and instructions?
If the information is stored, the owner/manager can ask:
“What’s the door code for [property]?”
“Where are extra linens at [property]?”
“What are the trash and recycling rules at [property]?”
Claus can return these details so the manager can share them with you.
What are best practices for cleaners working with Claus (through managers)?
Use it for clarity before you go:
Ask your manager (who asks Claus):“Confirm tomorrow’s time and duration at [property].”
“Any special tasks or notes for [date] at [property]?”
Use it when something changes last‑minute:
“Has the guest extended or shortened their stay?”
“Do we need to adjust the clean time because of a late check‑out or early check‑in?”
Use it for special situations:
“What’s the best way to handle if I can’t make today’s job?” (Manager can ask Claus about backup options and communication steps.)
“What’s the process if I find damage or a serious mess?” (Manager can ask Claus for a documentation checklist and next steps.)
